Ratko the Dictator’s son is a beautiful movie. The plot of the story deals with the life of a young boy called Ratko who is the son of a dictator. Though the movie has a pretty predictable plot but still the audiences loved it the way it is made. Elfren Ramirez as Ratko was fabulous in his role. He is shown as a happy go lucky person who loves to be pampered by all. The change in Ratko, which we face at the end of the movie, touches our heart.
Ratko the Dictator’s son begins with Ratko visiting USA for finishing his university studies. The boy becomes very popular in the campus for his strange accent and riotous behavior. Ratko’s life is filled with happiness, wealth and friends. He lives in a dream world. Being the son of an extremely rich father, Ratko is shown to enjoy all the luxuries of life. He was content with himself and his life until he comes across Holly.
Holly comes as a refreshing change in his life. Holly is a student activist and speaks out against all kinds of illegal activities. Ratko gets very much impressed with Holly’s character. He goes to the extent of questioning his father’s source of wealth after being close to Holly. Ratko’s father is a dictator in some place of Eastern Europe. He gets very upset with the strange behavior of his son.
Ratko’s realizes how much he is in love with Holly. The film tries to portray the life of a young guy who tries to come out of the shadow of his influential father and prove his mettle. He wanted to win his love Holly by following the path of truth. The intent acting By Elfren Ramirez is commendable.
Katrina Bowden plays the female lead in the movie. She is good- looking and extraordinarily talented. The character of Holly is cut out for Bowden’s personality. Her frail structure paired with her strong personality makes Holly an impressive character. How love can change the direction of a life is shown in Ratko the Dictator’s son. Ratko’s life takes new turns after his closeness with Holly. She teaches him how to struggle in life and fight for truth.
Ratko gets the power to stand against his father from Holly. He realizes that she is the guiding light of her life. In between they have to face plenty of hurdles to reach their ultimate aim. Ratko’s dad acts as a horrible villain in their love story. The film has an attraction of its own. It is well directed and does not have any lose ends.
